Woodwork

My maternal grandfather was a super skilled person. I remember him fixing closet drawers and making toys for us, like toy cars or dollhouses. I remember the smell of wood and your tool closet I will never forget. Another person who inspired me to work with wood was my father's friend called Taboca, who is a carpenter. Together, he and my dad invented some of the coolest toys I've ever owned.

In the photos below I show a few of the pieces I've already made. A bench at the entrance to the house, where we sit to (un)put on our shoes. What I like most about this project is that I used the wood I recovered from the door frames when I renovated the apartment. The second piece is also located at the entrance to the apartment and was designed to accommodate the things we take outside, such as keys and bags. And the last one is a desk. It is over 2 meters long and is used on both sides by my wife and I, so we can see each other while working on the computer.

Photography

You only live once, right? I love to travel and meet new things, new people, new places. But it seems to me that the memories go away a little at a time, right?

I started photographing encouraged by a friend from work, to sign up for photo contests. Then it became a passion and today I photograph to remind myself of the beautiful places I've visited.

(Fun fact: did you know that macaws form pairs to reproduce and then never separate? When one dies, the other lives alone until the end of its life. (Source)

DIY and 3D Print

Several people, at different times, have asked me why I like engineering so much. And the answer will always be the same: because it taught me that I can do anything.

My head is full of ideas. I'm always making something up, whether it's for the house or just for fun. I'm passionate about creating things. I've already made a dining table, several knives, an internet-connected lamp and plastic, printed and scrap sculptures. I also have fun programming random bots or filters for my photos and videos. Crazy thing indeed!
